There is a possibility of some white precipitation within the next couple days....

December 4th?
I was able to squeeze in a little time outdoors today in between commitments. I am so glad I did. It was so much like spring today with the length of the shadows being one of the only clues as to the time of year.
The chickens got some much needed free-range time. It's really funny to see them get so excited.

December flowers.
One of the hens soaking up some sun.
This is a snap dragon with tiny new flower buds. I don't know if they'll open before the wintry weather comes in.
I was able to (finally!) weed and turn over three of the raised beds. Here are a few of many carrots still in the ground. They are still quite tasty.

My chickens are jealous. We have had so much rain as of late that keeping them away from standing water has been a challenge. Right now we have a tarp extending beyond the coop to keep the rain away from their foraging area.
Everytime I see your chickens, I think I have to get some. Fortunately my neighbor keeps me in eggs and I get to enjoy his roosters in the AM. Love that sound.
