Brownish-black Gold

I turned my compost this afternoon. It's almost a workout itself. The heap is coming along nicely and will be great in the spring.

This is a shot from the side. I moved it from right to left. The foliage directly behind the pile is a mass of volunteer tomato plants that grew out of the compost. Huge plants, but very little fruit.
